IDCC Saudi 2025

The International District Cooling Conference (IDCC) Saudi 2025 officially opened at the Hilton Hotel Jeddah, convening senior government officials, sustainability experts, and industry leaders to explore the transformative role of district cooling in supporting Saudi Arabia’s urban development and environmental goals.

In his opening address, Eng. Samar Abousa, Chairman of the IDCC Advisory Committee, emphasized the importance of district cooling as a strategic enabler of energy-efficient infrastructure and smart city development.

“This conference marks the beginning of a national dialogue on how we can grow sustainably,” he said. “District cooling is not just a technical solution—it is an environmental commitment and a key contributor to our shared vision for a low-carbon, livable urban future.”

Throughout the day, the conference hosted in-depth sessions on district cooling investment opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency, cost savings, and climate resilience across large-scale cooling networks.

A showcase of advanced district cooling technologies featured solutions from global and regional leaders.
Al Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker Co. highlighted their turnkey capabilities in high-efficiency cooling systems designed for new mega-projects.
Siemens and Honeywell presented automation and control platforms enabling intelligent, real-time energy optimization across district cooling plants.
LG Electronics introduced their latest energy-saving chillers and thermal management systems, tailored for the Gulf region’s climate conditions.
Zamil Air Conditioners and Daikin displayed robust, scalable cooling units engineered for urban districts, campuses, and mixed-use developments.

A key panel discussion, led by stakeholders from both public utilities and private developers, addressed the financing models needed to accelerate the rollout of sustainable district cooling infrastructure across Saudi Arabia’s major cities.

The event, organized by creative connect in association with Great Minds Group, welcomed more than 300 participants representing utilities, municipalities, developers, consultants, and technology providers. The conference provides an important platform for knowledge exchange, business development, and public-private collaboration.

Day one concluded with a series of technical presentations covering the operational lifecycle of district cooling systems, from plant design and commissioning to digital monitoring and long-term asset performance management.

IDCC Saudi 2025 continues tomorrow with further sessions, site visits, and networking aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s commitment to green infrastructure and smart city innovation.
