Here in an interview Sandeep Jaisinghani, Managing Director of JCB Air Tech, gives an insight about the company and the strategies which would lead it towards success in a rapidly evolving industry.
Give us an understanding of JCB Air Tech.
JCB has entered into an industrial products division, we have man lifts, power tools, hand tools, uniforms and now we are entering into industrial cooling and ventilation. The brand we have launched in the market is named JCB Air Tech.
How old is this brand now?
This is now one and half year old. It caters to a large market size estimated to $30 billion and we want to be not just the biggest but the best brand. The same philosophy and precautions of durability, reliability and quality that goes into manufacturing the JCB products are followed in the development of our Air Tech products.
Are the products available worldwide or have they only been launched in India?
It has been launched in India and based on the response and feedback from India, we will take it forward. For now, our tie-up is with JCB for marketing these products to India and as the market grows, we have the option open of exploring the world.
Have you assessed the market size in terms of the business volumes that you can generate?
Our parent company ECO Air has been in the business for the last 12 years and now we have a strategic alliance with JCB. So, we are growing by 30 per cent per annum and we see this becoming a more fundamental utility in a plant that was not there earlier. People earlier had a machine, a light and a fan but cooling and ventilation didn’t play an important part of the business back then.
Tell us about the products that are displayed here.
Our main products are the HVLS Fans which provide cost effectiveness and air circulation. We also have exhaust fans and industrial coolers. We have showcased a floor mounted HVLS fan and it is applicable in some large kinds of factories such as a fabrication factory where people work can have a moveable fan. It is not only energy efficient but delivers a large volume of air, a gentle breeze with very low sound level without disturbing you. So, we have fans such as floor mounted, ceiling mounted, wall mounted, exhaust, inline and roof extractors and our customers always give us the best insight on what’s next.
What opportunities are you seeking on the Indian landscape?
We service from Maruti to McDonald’s. Whether it’s an auditorium, warehouse, school or factory; the application is endless. Anywhere where there’s air, we can help move air at a very low cost in a reliable way.
Can you name some of your important customers?
We have served Amazon, Tata, Bajaj, Flipkart, Mahindra, McDonalds, Indian Railways, Adani, Reliance, Airport Authority and many more.
Are you using Pune as an export base? Can you tell us more about that?
We are exporting not only in developing countries but developed countries as well. We export to Italy, Indonesia, Philippines, and the United Kingdom. Even a small quantity is a growth area for us. We have a dedicated manager to only handle the exports. India is going to have a very large export potential. From two or three inquiries a month to getting three inquiries per day one can understand the potential of the market.
As the products are manufactured in Pune, what is the manufacturing capacity?
We can manufacture 500 fans per month, 1000 coolers per month and 1000 exhausts per month and we can add more capacity as well and some products are built to order for clients.
Are you optimistic about your business going forward?
100 per cent! I’m optimistic about India. We are in the golden period and we have to grow. We all only have to do our job decently well enough.
