Danfoss has recently formed a global partnership with Highly, a well-known manufacturer of rotary compressors. The goal of this collaboration is to bring rotary technology to the residential heat pump market and certain refrigeration applications. This strategic agreement strengthens Danfoss’ position as a preferred partner in driving the transition to cleaner heating solutions.
The partnership enables Danfoss to offer a comprehensive program for heat pumps, now including rotary compressors, expanding their range from heating sources to distribution. For residential heat pump Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and distribution markets, Danfoss will sell rotary compressors manufactured by Highly under the Danfoss brand. Meanwhile, Highly will continue to sell their own branded rotary compressors through their existing channels.
This development is expected to simplify system design and accelerate time-to-market for customers by integrating R290 rotary compressors with Danfoss’ existing lineup of valves, controls, heat exchangers, and sensors. The rotary compressors will come with a new HVAC drive, detailed specifications, and will be offered as a pre-qualified package, further streamlining heat pump system qualification.
Both companies are confident that Danfoss’ extensive offering, industry expertise, and strong sales network, combined with Highly’s rotary compressor technology, will contribute to their collective success in the heat pump market and help customers design more efficient systems.
