Mettube Copper India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of Malaysian copper tube maker, Mettube, has signed an agreement with the Government of Gujarat to set up a manufacturing plant in Sanand. The MoU was exchanged between Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Apurva Bagri, Chairman, Mettube Copper India in Gandhinagar.
The company will approximately invest about Rs 1,000 crore in the first phase for setting up the facility & aim to give direct & indirect employment to 1,500 people. The manufacturing plant is expected to be commissioned by January 2024 and will significantly reduce carbon footprint by making the fifth generation copper tube. “This is the first copper tube manufacturing unit in India and is on the lines of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The state government will extend all possible support to help commission the plant,” said Patel.
